CHAPEL

The small church of the ancient convent is dedicated to San Lorenzo the first martyr of the Catholic Church to which Francis was very devoted.

Consecrated 8 centuries ago contains a reliquary with small remains of Saints Peter and Paul and other saints venerated in Umbria. A large canvas in the apse depicting San Lorenzo and two small side niches surround a seventeenth-century statue of the Madonna and a nineteenth-century saint.

A document preserved in the Historical Archives documents the existence of a fresco attributable to the painter of the late fifteenth century Niccolò Alunno still to be brought to light.
